I’ve written another article for Yes And Improv’s series over at Pulse that discusses using improvisation in the workplace, and this time we featured the idea of bringing a sense of playfulness to the workplace. Here’s a snippet:
Take a walk down the hallways or aisles of your office and look around. Does everyone you see seem pretty buttoned up and serious? Or are you more likely to see a smile around every corner? If your workplace feels more like the former scenario, perhaps it’s time to encourage a sense of playfulness in your employees; you might just see their productivity go up.
Have fun at work
Let’s take a step back for a minute. Of all the vendors and other companies you work with, which ones stand out to you in the most positive way? The ones that stick out in your mind are most likely those that provided the best service and were positive to be around. You might even say that it’s because they were fun to work with. But what was the intangible quality that made them “fun?”
